Raul Malo and the Mavericks bring multi-genre rhythms to Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium

For 35 years, Mavericks front man Raul Malo has occupied a space in popular music defined by a suave, smart and serially curious relationship with the grooves that define rock 'n' roll. The Cuban-American Miami native is speaking to The Tennessean in late November in the dressing room at the Ryman Auditorium, where concerts on Friday and Saturday will mark a decade of the band's third era together.
