CJ Lawrence is a queer songwriter whose songs don’t pull any emotional punches. He’s currently recording his debut album <em>Home</em>, which draws on his experiences as a transsexual Kansan who was rejected by his family when he came out. He hopes, especially now, that his songs serve as an empowering reminder that trans people deserve unconditional love, and have every right to be angry if they don’t get it.
