Annually, the Concert For Love & Acceptance brings together the brightest stars in country music and garners millions of media impressions each year, sending messages of encouragement to LGBTQ individuals all around the world.

Born and raised in North Carolina, John Rodney rural queer with a story to tell about the southern queer experience. Using elements of outlaw country, bluegrass, and folk, his music encompasses the wide range of sounds that can be called country music. Whether he’s using humor to point out the absurdity of homophobia, laying bare the grim reality of violence toward the LGBTQ+ community, or the rejection felt by so many queer people raised in a conservative Christian culture, his music is nothing but honest. Inspired by artist such as Lavender Country, Townes Van Zandt, and the honky tonk heroes of old. His songs are expressions of queer love, joy, anger, and all the emotions that are felt through the journey of sexuality and gender.
